Nanny – Late September Start

We are looking for our next nanny!

We are a family of four, Mum works full time, Dad travels for work most weeks, our boys are 10 and 5, and there is Patch, our much-loved Border Collie.

Both boys attend school and have busy morning and afternoon routines. We are looking for someone who can become a part of our family and help us keep our routines calm, organised and enjoyable.

The role

This is a live-out, Monday–Friday role of approximately 40 hours per week, with hours adjusted during school holidays while maintaining the same overall hours.

The role includes:

• Managing established morning and afternoon routines

• School drop-off three mornings per week and school pick-up five afternoons

• Preparing school lunches three mornings per week

• After-school activities, homework and general support with the boys

• Encouraging the boys to be responsible, respectful and independent, and to take care of their belongings and environment

• Helping maintain a calm, orderly and positive household routine

• Preparing dinner each evening

• Washing and some general household support

• Collecting groceries/click & collect orders and occasional errands

• Taking Patch to his monthly vet/grooming appointment

• A vehicle will be supplied for use when transporting the boys as part of the role. You will need access to a reliable vehicle for commuting to and from our home, as we live within a gated estate that is not accessible by public transport.

• There is no general house cleaning required; we have a weekly cleaner.

• Commitment to provide a minimum of 38 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

About you

We are looking for someone who is:

• Warm, calm and genuinely enjoys being around children

• Confident managing a busy schedule without becoming easily flustered

• Self-managed and proactive, someone who sees what needs doing and is happy to take care of things

• Comfortable setting consistent, fair and respectful boundaries

• Reliable, organised and efficient

• A confident and safe driver, comfortable with local and highway driving

• An excellent communicator who understands the importance of keeping everyone on the same page

• Availability: Monday to Friday, with the ability to provide consistent and reliable weekly support. This role is best suited to someone who is looking for a stable, ongoing position and can reliably commit to the agreed hours each week. We run our own business and rely heavily on our nanny to ensure the boys' daily needs are consistently met. We don't have local family or regular backup support, so reliability is particularly important to us.

• Most importantly, we are looking for someone who will take a genuine interest in our boys and enjoy being part of our everyday lives.

About our family

The boys love fishing, riding bikes, going to the park, drawing, colouring, painting, 3D printing and art. Our youngest is particularly fond of karaoke! During the week, technology time is minimal, and we encourage activities that don’t involve screens.

We are an experienced “nanny family”, having had nannies alongside us since our eldest son, now 10, was two years old.  We have had wonderful nannies over the years, and the boys respond best to people who genuinely enjoy children, take an interest in who they are and enjoy spending time with them.

Mum is also very much part of the boys' everyday lives. I love being involved with the boys and will always jump in and share the load when things get particularly busy; we really believe that many hands make light work.

Our current nanny is leaving us after around nine months, and we are genuinely so sad to say goodbye. She has been a wonderful part of our family, which, to us, is the ultimate sign of a successful nanny relationship.
