About the role
Location: NSW Based (Travel Throughout Australia Required)
Employment Type: Full-Time
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Trades Assistant to join our expanding team. This unique role involves working on-site across major retail shopping centres and commercial properties, supporting electrical asset audits, data collection, and low-voltage preventative maintenance activities.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in the electrical services industry while gaining valuable technical experience and receiving ongoing training and support.
Working alongside our experienced electrical team, you will assist with the identification, inspection, documentation, and maintenance of electrical assets across a diverse portfolio of commercial and retail properties.
Travel throughout NSW is required, with occasional interstate travel to Queensland, Victoria, and South Australia.
Identify and document electrical assets including:
Main Switchboards
Switchgear
Distribution Boards
Mechanical Switchboards
Develop and maintain asset registers using Microsoft Excel and Word.
Mark up floor plans, architectural drawings, and single-line diagrams.
Conduct electrical asset inspections using company digital tools and applications.
Assist with Low Voltage Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities across NSW, including:
Switchboard and switchgear inspections
RCD testing
Power Factor Correction (PFC) testing and maintenance
Maintain accurate records and reports from site inspections.
We are looking for someone who is:
Detail-oriented with strong data collection and reporting skills.
Comfortable working both independently and within a team environment.
Eager to learn electrical systems, equipment, and industry terminology.
Highly organised with strong communication skills.
Competent in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Willing to travel and work across various commercial environments.
Previous experience in electrical, maintenance, facilities, construction, or technical support roles will be highly regarded but is not essential.
Full training and ongoing development.
Exposure to major retail and commercial assets across Australia.
