About the role
This position works with the Exercise Physiologist to support clients attending Balwyn Evergreen's exercise and allied health activities. The Allied Health Assistant is part of the Exercise Team at Balwyn Evergreen Centre and supports the implementation of diverse, engaging strength and balance programs for older people, encouraging mobility, independence, socialisation, friendships, and integration into the community. The exercise programs are planned and delivered, achieving maximum benefit for the participants within the policy and financial guidelines of Balwyn Evergreen, the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) and Support at Home (SaH).

What you will bring
You are compassionate and are committed to client satisfaction and the provision of prompt, attentive services. You will be a team player and work with colleagues in a constructive and supportive manner.
To thrive in this role you will have:
Experience in delivering exercise classes or group social support activities. Delivery to older people living in the community is preferred but not essential.
Ideally you will hold a Certificate III (or IV) in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent) or be willing to commit to completing one on appointment to the role.
Excellent interpersonal skills for communicating with a diverse range of older people, volunteers, and colleagues in a sensitive and professional manner.
Demonstrate the ability to follow instructions, policies and procedures effectively.
Ability to identify issues early and develop practical solutions to mitigate risk.
You will be required to provide evidence of or be prepared to obtain:
Cert III or IV in Allied Health Assistance or higher
Current Victorian driver's licence
A current national police check
Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
