Locum Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Nurse
22 September – 15 October 2026
We're looking for an experienced Locum ECC Veterinary Nurse to support our team at ARH Brisbane from 22 September through to 15 October 2026.
If you thrive in a fast-paced emergency environment and enjoy working alongside a supportive team of ECC veterinarians, specialists, and experienced nurses, we'd love to hear from you.
Our ECC service operates from 4:00pm – 8:00am Monday to Friday, with 24-hour emergency cover across Saturdays and Sundays. You'll play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care within our busy emergency department. You'll be hands-on with a diverse caseload, providing advanced nursing care to critically ill and emergency patients while working collaboratively with our experienced clinical team.
You'll be supported by ECC Team Leader Tailah, Nursing Manager Jenna, and a close-knit nursing team that values teamwork, high standards of patient care, and plenty of good banter along the way.
We're looking for someone with:
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)A minimum of 3 years' experience working in Emergency & Critical CareAvailability to work overnight shifts throughout the locum periodConfidence nursing emergency and critically ill patients in a fast-paced hospital environmentProficiency in anaesthetic monitoring and nursing critical and ventilated patients advantageousThe ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative teamExcellent communication, organisation, and multitasking skillsExperience with RX Works, SmartFlow, and IDEXX laboratory equipment (advantageous)
