About The Role

Are you a skilled technician looking for your next challenge? G+D Australia is seeking a motivated Maintenance Technician to join our Operations team at Knoxfield. If you have a passion for quality, safety, and operational excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, we want to hear from you!Key Responsibilities:

Perform scheduled preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on production machinery (new and legacy).Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.Assist with installation, commissioning, and modification of production equipment.Conduct routine inspections, lubrication, cleaning, and adjustments to maintain optimal equipment performance.Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and spare parts inventory using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).Support production line changeovers, equipment start-ups, and shutdowns.Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to resolve technical issues and drive process improvements.Ensure all maintenance activities comply with ISO, Good Manufacturing Process (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and company safety standards.Identify and implement opportunities for equipment upgrades, process improvements, and cost savings.Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.Undertake other duties as assigned within the scope of your skill set.

Skills & Experience Required:

Trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering field.Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in maintenance/service of automated production machinery (FMCG, packaging, plastics, or high-speed manufacturing preferred).Experience with Programmable Logic Controller PLC-controlled equipment, pneumatics, hydraulics, and modern automated systems.Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, manuals, and service documentation.Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.Highly detailed and maintain a high level of delivery on all work, demonstrating high attention to detail and commitment to quality, with an analytical approach and strong research skills.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Valid driver’s licence; forklift licence highly regarded.Ability to perform manual handling (up to 10 kg), stand for long periods (up to 7+ hours per day), and operate keyboard/PC (approx. 4-7 hours per day).
