IT Security Analyst

About the role

At Diraq, we're building scalable quantum computers using silicon quantum dot technology. Operating across Australia and the United States, our teams work at the intersection of advanced research, engineering, export-controlled technology and commercialisation. Protecting source code, research environments, technical data and intellectual property is critical to our success.
We're looking for an IT Security Analyst to help protect the systems, R&D environments and technology that underpin our quantum computing mission.
This is not a policy-writing or governance-heavy role. It's an opportunity to work alongside engineers, researchers and technology specialists to implement, operate and improve security controls in a highly technical environment.
If you're the type of person who likes digging into logs, hardening systems, improving security controls, responding to incidents and finding practical ways to strengthen security, we'd love to hear from you.

About you

You'll likely bring:
Experience in IT security, security operations, infrastructure security, systems administration or cyber securityHands-on experience supporting Linux and/or Windows environmentsExposure to security monitoring, SIEM, logging or alerting platformsKnowledge of vulnerability management, patching and system hardeningUnderstanding of identity and access management principlesStrong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, cloud, networks or endpointsThe ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersBonus points if you have experience in:
Deep-tech, semiconductor, defence, aerospace, R&D or other highly technical environmentsCloud security, DevOps or secure engineering platformsISO 27001, NIST, Essential Eight or similar security frameworksProtecting sensitive intellectual property or working in regulated environments

What you'll be doing

You'll be involved in a broad range of security and infrastructure activities, including:
Monitoring and responding to security events and alertsImproving visibility through logging, monitoring and SIEM platformsSecuring Linux and Windows environmentsSupporting vulnerability management, patching and remediation programsImplementing and improving identity and access management controlsWorking with network and infrastructure teams to strengthen security across the environmentSupporting incident response investigations and follow-up actionsProviding technical evidence and support for audits and assurance activitiesHelping embed practical security controls into engineering and operational workflows
