ILS/IPS Consultant

The company supports clients across the full capability life cycle, including concept, acquisition, sustainment, and disposal. Role Description The ILS/IPS Consultant is a full-time, on-site role based in Canberra. This role involves developing and implementing Integrated Logistics Support and Integrated Product Support strategies, plans, and documentation across the asset life cycle. The consultant will analyze supportability requirements, conduct logistics and maintenance reviews, and provide recommendations to enhance reliability, availability, and maintainability of complex systems. Day-to-day tasks include engaging with Defence and other stakeholders, preparing technical and support documentation, coordinating with engineering and maintenance teams, and contributing to MRO and IPS training activities. The role also involves ensuring alignment with applicable standards and policies, supporting bids and proposals, and providing ongoing customer-focused advisory services.
Qualifications

Strong knowledge and practical experience in Integrated Product Support (IPS) and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), preferably within Defence or complex asset environments.Experience in maintenance planning, reliability engineering, and supportability analysis across the capability life cycle.Ability to develop and manage technical publications, support documentation, and configuration information to applicable standards.Patent Preparation, Patent Law, and Intellectual Property skills for handling technology and innovation-related asset support considerations.Trademarks and Customer Service skills to support protection of organizational assets and maintain effective client relationships.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams on-site.Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, logistics, supply chain, or a related discipline; experience with Defence standards and frameworks is highly desirable.
