Asset Manager (12 Month Contract)

Asset Manager | 12-Month Contract | Sydney

A real estate investment platform is looking for an experienced Asset Manager to join the team on a 12-month contract.

This is a broad, hands-on role with responsibility for a portfolio of commercial assets. You’ll work closely with the wider investment team to manage day-to-day asset performance, progress key initiatives and identify opportunities to improve income and long-term value.

The role would suit an experienced property professional who is comfortable taking ownership, working across multiple assets and managing a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the ongoing performance and strategic direction of a portfolio of commercial assets
• Manage leasing activity and work with external agents to drive occupancy, tenant retention and income outcomes
• Assess and progress opportunities to improve asset value, including capex, refurbishment and repositioning initiatives
• Manage annual budgets, forecasts, cash flows and asset-level financial performance
• Review asset and market performance to identify emerging opportunities and areas of risk
• Manage relationships with property managers, leasing agents, consultants and other service providers
• Provide regular reporting and commercial recommendations to the broader investment team
• Assist with acquisition and disposal activity where required, including financial analysis and due diligence
• Coordinate multiple asset initiatives and ensure agreed strategies are progressed through to delivery

About You
We’re looking for an experienced commercial property Asset Manager who can come into an established portfolio and quickly get across the assets, priorities and key relationships.
You will ideally bring:

• Experience managing commercial property assets within an institutional, investment management, REIT or private property environment
• A strong track record across leasing, asset strategy and value-add initiatives
• Good financial capability, including budgets, forecasts, cash flows and performance analysis
• Experience managing external property and leasing partners
• Strong commercial judgement and the confidence to make recommendations and drive outcomes
• Exposure to property transactions would be beneficial, but is not essential
• The ability to work autonomously and balance competing priorities across a portfolio
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in property, finance, commerce or a related discipline
