Build your career at Iress! The Group Financial Controller is a pivotal role in the Group Finance Team, responsible for financial accounting, treasury, and operational finance across the Iress Group. The role will be managing a team of ~19 and will suit an up & coming ASX listed Financial Controller seeking to expand breadth in a business which is continuing to transform at rapid pace.
Accountabilities and deliverablesEnhance and maintain strong internal controls and risk management frameworks to drive process improvement, standardisation, simplification and automation across Group FinanceEnhance governance, structure and control of financial grade dataSupport the Head of Group Tax & Financial Control in preparation of policy, ARC and Board papersManage the external audit process, ensuring the timely delivery of audit requirementsOversee preparation of the annual / half year financial reports for Group and APAC subsidiary entities in accordance with IFRSLead month-end and year-end close across all entities; own control of group P&L, balance sheet and cash flow uplifting quality and timelinessManagement ofTreasury encompassing cash flow forecasting, treasury operations, transactional banking arrangements and treasury risk managementAR, AP, Financial Accounting operationsFinance Systems in defining the finance technology roadmapLead finance transformation — Uplifting quality of capability, outputs, risk controls, process redesign and automationFacilitate adhoc internal audits and the execution and maintenance of recommendationsProvide effective leadership and mentorship of team members, driving a culture of high performance, strong personal accountability and responsibility and supporting the Iress purpose and values.
What you will bringQualified accountant with post qualification experience in a Financial Controller role or similar in a multi-national ASX listed companyStrong technical accounting (IFRS) knowledge and skills, with an ability to apply accounting standards knowledge to real issuesStrong understanding of end to end financial risk management and frameworksExperience in enhancing and implementing robust internal control systems to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure the integrity of financial dataA strong pro-active operator with experience in collaborating across regions and functions in a global business, adhere to tight deadlines and work under pressureBest practice presentation and preparation of consolidated financial statements and reportsExperience in management and oversight of Treasury and Treasury risk managementExperience in managing and delivering change projects including ERP transformationExperience in transforming technology, systems, tools and automation and AI enablement to support the function
