Conveyancer (Full-time)

Othman Lawyers is a private law practice in South Melbourne specialising in commercial litigation, property law and litigation, and conveyancing.

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a conveyancer, to join our team on a full-time basis.

As a conveyancer you will display professionalism and high attention to detail.  You will be solution-driven and highly efficient.

You will be involved in conveyancing transactions from start to finish (contract reviews and preparation through to settlement). You will have the opportunity to work with high net-worth clients and gain invaluable experience working with other industry professionals. You will also be involved in navigating various issues and areas of law that intersect with a conveyancing transaction. 

Responsibilities will include the following:

• Answering phone calls, assisting with client enquiries and transferring calls;

• Assisting in the preparation and finalisation of legal documents (contracts, vendor statement etc);

• File management – open/close files, sending engagement documents, compliance with ARNECC etc;

• Conducting LANDATA and other searches;

• Liaising with clients, agents, lenders and other professionals; and

• Assistance with general administrative tasks as required.

The successful candidate will have:

• 2 - 5+ years conveyancing experience (ideal)

• Experience using PEXA;

• Excellent communication skills (this is essential);

• A ‘solutions’ mindset and strong desire to solve problems;

• Energy and enthusiasm to learn and develop new skills;

• Experience using Outlook and Smokeball (ideal, but not essential);

• Ability to prioritise tasks without compromising on quality, and meet deadlines; and

• Importantly, a proven history of strong attention to detail.
