Mechanical Project Engineer

The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join Downer's Energy & Utilities team delivering a major greenfield water infrastructure project at Logan City, QLD. This is a permanent full-time position supporting the successful delivery of a significant state funded project that will play a key role in supporting future community growth.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will provide technical expertise, guidance and support across all phases of project delivery. Working closely with project teams, subcontractors and stakeholders, you will help drive safe, efficient and high-quality project outcomes while ensuring cost, schedule and client requirements are achieved.

Key responsibilities include:Providing technical advice and support to project delivery teamsSupporting and mentoring Site Engineers and project personnelManaging subcontractor performance, progress claims and variationsAssisting with procurement activities, scope development and subcontract managementMonitoring project budgets, forecasting and financial performanceSupporting constructability reviews, value engineering and design coordinationDriving quality outcomes and ensuring compliance with environmental, community and client requirements
What We Are Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will bring:Engineering qualificationProject Engineering experience within the water or wastewater industryExperience managing subcontractors and supplier relationshipsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsDemonstrated experience developing scopes of work and subcontract agreementsStrong financial management, budgeting and reporting capabilityExperience developing and managing project schedulesStrong organisational and time management skillsSound computer and reporting skillsYou will also demonstrate strong accountability a collaborative leadership style and a commitment to safety quality and customer outcomes.
