Position Title: Dog Handler, Trainer

We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and compassionate Dog Handler/Trainer to join our team. This multi-skilled role involves providing exceptional care for dogs while ensuring their safety, health and training. The successful candidate will be confident working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments, delivering high standards of animal welfare and outstanding customer service.

• Safely handle, supervise, and exercise dogs in individual and group settings.

• Monitor canine health, behavior, and well-being, reporting any concerns promptly.

• Feed dogs according to dietary requirements and administer medications when required.

• Maintain clean, safe, and hygienic kennels, play areas and equipment.

• Ensure all dogs are treated with kindness, patience, and respect while maintaining a safe environment.

• Conduct obedience and behavioral training using positive reinforcement techniques.

• Assess canine behavior and develop appropriate training plans.

• Support owners by providing guidance on training techniques, behavior management, and responsible pet ownership.

• Maintain accurate training records and monitor each dog's progress.

• Promote safe interactions between dogs and handlers.

• Qualification in Dog Handler (AKC, JKC etc.)

• Previous experience (minimum of 3 years) in dog handling, training.

• Strong understanding of canine behavior, body language, and welfare.

• Experience using positive reinforcement training methods.

• Excellent animal handling skills and confidence working with dogs of different temperaments.

• Strong communication and customer service skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Physically fit and capable of lifting, restraining, and handling medium to large dogs safely.

• Reliable, organized, and attentive to detail.

• Certificate or qualification in Animal Care, Dog Training, or a related field.

• Current First Aid certification (animal first aid is desirable).

• Valid driver's license.

• Experience in a boarding kennel, dog daycare, veterinary clinic, or grooming salon.

• Genuine passion for dogs and animal welfare.
