The Senior Accountant at NightOwl is a key member of the finance team, partnering closely with the Head of Finance and collaborating across departments to deliver data-driven insights and robust financial reporting. This role goes beyond maintaining records and compliance, it is pivotal in leveraging technology, advanced analytics, and forecasting models to shape strategic financial outcomes. We are seeking a proactive professional who combines strong accounting expertise with an analyst’s mindset, capable of transforming complex data into clear, actionable intelligence that drives continuous improvement and supports decision-making at the highest level.
Key Responsibilities
Utilise financial systems and data analytics tools to produce accurate, timely, and insightful reporting data.
Build and maintain advanced forecasting models (3-way: P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) to support scenario planning.
Translate complex financial data into clear dashboards and performance metrics.
Identify trends, variances, and drivers through deep data analysis to inform strategic decisions.
Automate and streamline reporting processes using technology to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Partner with stakeholders to deliver actionable insights that go beyond compliance reporting.
Ensure integrity of financial data while enhancing reporting capabilities through innovative use of technology.
Act as a bridge between accounting and analytics, elevating the finance function with modern reporting practice.
The ideal candidate:
Professional accounting qualification (CA/CPA or equivalent) with strong technical accounting knowledge.
Demonstrated experience in financial reporting with a focus on data-driven analysis.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, including complex modelling, and automation techniques.
Hands-on experience with data analytics platforms.
Ability to design and maintain 3-way forecasting models and scenario planning tools.
Strong understanding of financial systems and ERP platforms, with the ability to leverage them for reporting efficiency.
Comfort working with large datasets, applying statistical or analytical methods to extract insights.
Excellent communication skills to translate data into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
A mindset that blends accounting rigour with analytical curiosity and technological innovation.
