About the role
The Central Coast Steiner School is a thriving, progressive independent Kindergarten to Year 12 school with nearly 400 students and growing. We have a beautiful bushland campus with outstanding facilities, and we are located close to some of the most exquisite beaches on the Central Coast. The School fosters an atmosphere where students develop into intellectually curious individuals and compassionate, socially responsible global citizens.
We are seeking an accomplished English Teacher to join our team in a permanent full-time capacity commencing Term 1, 2027. The successful applicant will be an engaging English teacher who demonstrates creativity and rigour in the delivery of curriculum and who can foster warm, supportive relationships with students.
Key Selection Criteria:
Qualifications and/or commitment to professional development in Steiner Education
Demonstrate knowledge, competence and confidence in teaching English
Outstanding rapport with students
Collegiality and ability to contribute to a faculty of committed educators
Programming, lesson planning, assessment and reporting
Create engaging and effective instructional materials and resources
Modifying teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
Provide effective feedback to students to improve their understanding and learning
Contribute to the school's commitment to a well-rounded, rich, and distinctive curriculum
Excellent classroom management skills
Provide pastoral support to students, upholding our Steiner philosophy
Experience:
Experience in teaching Years 7-10 English (Essential)
Experience teaching HSC English (desirable)
Experience in teaching English within the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (desirable)
Experience teaching within a Steiner school (desirable)
Experience in teaching other humanities subjects such as Drama, History or Geography (desirable)
Requirements:
Current NESA accreditation to teach in NSW
Current NSW Working with Children Check
Have a passion for teaching English and relevant teaching experience
Have NESA recognised tertiary educational qualifications
Be able to demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development
