About the role
Podpac is an Australian coffee manufacturer producing consistent, high-quality coffee at scale.
Originally focused on coffee capsules, we are expanding our range to include freshly roasted whole bean and ground coffee. Our growing portfolio includes a variety of blends and single-origin coffees across several brands, including our flagship brand, Urban Brew.
We supply retail, wholesale and online customers, with a strong focus on quality, consistency and efficient production.
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking person to join our team as a Coffee Roaster / Warehouse Assistant.
Previous coffee roasting experience is not required, as full training will be provided. What matters most is that you have a good work ethic, are physically fit, comfortable working around machinery and willing to learn. The role will involve learning to operate our commercial coffee roasting equipment, following established roast profiles and assisting with general warehouse duties. You will work as part of a supportive and down-to-earth team within a food manufacturing environment.
The position will initially be offered on a casual basis, working day shifts across five days per week. There is an opportunity to move into permanent employment for the right person who demonstrates reliability, a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
Key ResponsibilitiesCoffee Roasting
Learn to operate commercial coffee roasting equipment safely and confidently
Follow established roast profiles and daily production schedules
Monitor the roasting process to maintain consistent quality
Complete basic production records and quality checks
Monitor stock levels and advise when supplies are running low
Complete routine equipment checks and basic preventative maintenance
Clean the roasting equipment and surrounding area
Warehouse Assistant
Load and unload goods using safe manual-handling practices
Receive and check incoming deliveries
Pick, pack and prepare orders for dispatch
Assist with stock control and stock takes
Move pallets and materials around the warehouse
Maintain a clean, safe and organised production and warehouse environment
We are looking for someone who:
Has a strong work ethic and positive attitude
Is reliable, punctual and ready to work
Is physically fit and comfortable with regular manual handling
Is practical, hands-on and comfortable working around machinery
Can follow instructions and established processes
Takes pride in completing work accurately
Works well as part of a team
Has basic computer skills
Holds a forklift license or is willing to obtain one
Previous experience in warehousing, food manufacturing, machine operation or coffee production would be helpful, but is not essential.
