QBCC Nominee Supervisor — Shade Sails & Steel Fabrication

We have the workshop, the crews, the plant, the client list and four decades of completed jobs behind us. What we need is a currently licensed QBCC builder to step into the nominee supervisor role on the company licence.

Please note: you must already hold a current QBCC licence covering Builder — Restricted to Special Structures (Shade Sails). Step into a senior leadership seat in an established business. You'd act as nominee supervisor on the company licence and run the operational side day to day:

• Supervision and technical sign-off across shade sail installation, fabrication and footings
• Scheduling crews, subcontractors and installs
• Site inspections, stage checks and quality control
• Tendering, quoting support, contract administration and client liaison
• Mentoring installers and fabricators, and building the next layer of leadership
• Compliance — QBCC, WHS, engineering documentation, certification

Option 2 — Advisory Nominee (part-time, retainer)

Semi-retired, running your own show, or simply not looking for another full-time job? We're open to a genuine advisory arrangement: you hold the nominee supervisor position, and we structure a real, workable supervisory role around a monthly check-in and an agreed monthly retainer.

To be clear about what this is and isn't — QBCC requires a nominee supervisor to actually supervise the technical conduct of the business. We're not looking to rent a licence number. We're looking for an experienced licence holder who will:

• Review and sign off on technical documentation, methodology and engineering details
• Be reachable for the crews and the office when a call needs making
• Attend a scheduled monthly review — jobs in progress, defects, compliance, safety
• Have genuine authority over technical decisions, backed in writing

We'll do the heavy lifting on administration and record keeping so the role stays light, defensible and properly documented.

What you'll need

Essential — non-negotiable

• A current, active QBCC licence in Builder — Restricted to Special Structures (Shade Sails), or a broader builder class that covers this scope of work
• Licence in good standing and free of any conditions that would prevent you being nominated as nominee supervisor for a company
• Ability to meet QBCC's fit-and-proper requirements
• Permission to work in Queensland

What we'd love to see

• Membrane and tensioned fabric structure experience — patterning, tensioning, hardware, cable and bracket detail
• Steel fabrication and erection background
• Working knowledge of AS 1170 wind loading, footing design and engineering certification
• A track record you can have verified by a referee licensed at the same or a higher level
