About the role
About The Role
We're looking for a Financial Accountant to join a collaborative Financial Reporting team, helping deliver accurate financial reporting and supporting key finance activities across the business. You'll play an important role in month-end close, statutory reporting, audit support and continuous improvement initiatives during an exciting period of transformation.
Prepare and post month-end journals, helping ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Complete balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and maintain general ledger integrity. Prepare reporting packs and support the delivery of statutory financial statements in line with Australian accounting standards. Contribute to year-end audit activities, working closely with auditors and internal stakeholders. Own the Fixed Asset Register and lease accounting activities Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting activities
About You
A detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working with complex financial information and takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality outcomes. Brings strong technical accounting capability, excellent organisational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
CA qualified (or holds an equivalent professional accounting qualification) with a degree in accounting. Experience in financial accounting and a strong understanding of core accounting processes and controls. Experience within the energy, utilities or renewable energy sector will be highly regarded, with an understanding of the commercial and regulatory environment considered advantageous Advanced Excel skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple systems and datasets. Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet critical reporting deadlines. A collaborative communicator who builds effective relationships while handling sensitive information with discretion.
