Architectural Technician

Potter Projects is a forward-thinking building design company based in Bellerive, specialising in commercial and residential projects across Tasmania.

We are seeking a highly experienced Architectural Technician with excellent ArchiCAD skills and a thorough understanding of construction documentation to join our small team on a short-term contract.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can integrate quickly and immediately contribute to our commercial projects.  You will need to be highly proficient in ArchiCAD, confident producing detailed construction documentation, and able to work both independently and collaboratively within an established project environment.

This is not a training role.  We are looking for someone who can step in and make an immediate contribution.

The Role

This is a four-to-six-month contract, with flexible hours of 24-38 hours per week, negotiable for the right applicant.

You will work closely with our team on current commercial projects, with responsibilities including:

• Producing high-quality architectural and construction documentation in ArchiCAD

• Developing and detailing projects from design through to construction documentation

• Working efficiently within existing ArchiCAD projects and documentation systems

• Ensuring documentation complies with the NCC, Australian Standards and relevant council requirements

• Coordinating architectural documentation with consultants and other project stakeholders

• Liaising with consultants, suppliers and councils as required

• Managing your own workload, deadlines and project deliverables

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone with:

• Excellent, demonstrable ArchiCAD skills — this is essential

• 5+ years of local architectural drafting/documentation experience

• Strong experience in commercial construction documentation and detailing

• The ability to confidently pick up existing projects and contribute immediately

• Strong knowledge of the NCC, Australian Standards, planning and permit processes

• Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of drawing presentation

• The ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage deadlines and communicate effectively

• A professional and proactive attitude
