Accounts Administrator

About the role

Reporting to the Directors and working closely with our operations and sales team, you will take ownership of the day-to-day accounts and administration functions to keep the business running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily hire dockets and prepare sales invoicing from our hire system

• Manage Accounts Receivable & Payable – invoicing, reconciliations, follow-ups and payments

• Reconcile driver timesheets, subcontractor invoices and supplier statements

• Assist with payroll preparation, including collating hours and allowances

• General administration – filing compliance documents (tickets, insurance, SWMS), data entry and record keeping

• Support the Operations Manager with end-of-month reporting and BAS preparation for our accountant

• Answer incoming calls and assist with customer and driver queries when required

About you

• Proven experience as an Accounts Administrator, Bookkeeper, or Accounts Assistant

• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy with numbers

• Confident with Xero and Microsoft Excel

• Excellent communication and organisation skills – you can chase a docket and keep things friendly

• Ability to work autonomously and manage your own workload across 3 days

• Full Australian unrestricted working rights

• Experience in plant hire, transport, logistics or civil construction industries (highly desired)

• Understanding of subcontractor / driver payments and hire invoicing (highly desired)

• Certificate in Bookkeeping / Accounting is a plus, but not essential
