We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our high-performing team on a large-scale Solar Farm project in the Rockhampton region.

This is a Queensland-based FIFO position. Applicants must be currently based in Queensland and available to work on a FIFO roster to the project site.

The Role

As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in the planning, coordination and delivery of civil works across this large-scale Solar Farm project.

Working closely with the Project Manager, Construction Manager, Site Supervisors, subcontractors and project stakeholders, you will be responsible for providing engineering support across project delivery, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, to specification and within programme and budget.

You will have the opportunity to take ownership of key project packages and develop your commercial, technical and project management capabilities.

Your Everyday

• Manage and coordinate engineering activities across allocated project packages.
• Develop and manage three-week look-ahead programs and monitor progress against project milestones.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors to ensure efficient project delivery.
• Monitor productivity, costs and project performance.
• Provide technical support and guidance to site teams.
• Assist with procurement, subcontractor management and contract administration.
• Prepare, track and manage project variations and commercial reporting.
• Manage RFIs, Inspection & Test Plans, quality documentation and technical submissions.
• Ensure works comply with project specifications, drawings and relevant Australian Standards.
• Coordinate surveying, testing and quality assurance requirements.
• Identify and resolve technical issues throughout project delivery.
• Support the Project Manager with forecasting, reporting and project planning.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
• Build strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants and project stakeholders.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all project activities.

About You

We're looking for a motivated and experienced Project Engineer who is ready to take the next step in their civil construction career and contribute to the successful delivery of a major renewable energy project.

You'll ideally have:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2–3 years' Australian civil construction experience.
• Previous experience as a Project Engineer within civil construction, infrastructure, renewable energy or similar projects.
• Strong Earthworks experience is essential.
• Experience with bulk earthworks, roads, drainage, pavements or other civil infrastructure works.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and project delivery.
• Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating site activities.
• Understanding of QA, ITPs, RFIs, variations and project documentation.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project costs and budgets.
• Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
• High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and construction/project management software.
