About the role
Join a global leader in biotechnology and play a key role in supporting the maintenance and reliability of critical manufacturing and utility systems.
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner and a Scheduler to join the Maintenance & Utilities Operational Services team in Broadmeadows. This position is responsible for developing detailed maintenance job plans, coordinating resources and materials, and supporting the efficient execution of maintenance activities across a complex and highly regulated manufacturing environment.
About The Role
You will work closely with maintenance engineers, technicians, schedulers and contractors to ensure maintenance activities are planned effectively, safely, and in accordance with operational requirements and be responsible for developing and maintaining weekly maintenance schedules that optimize resource utilization and minimize plant downtime.
Key Responsibilities Include
Develop detailed maintenance job plans and work packsDevelop clear, achievable weekly maintenance schedules in collaboration with maintenance and production teamsCreate and manage work orders through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)Coordinate procurement and reservation of engineering materials, tools and equipmentSupport maintenance scheduling through accurate planning and resource allocationTrack schedule compliance, analyze performance data, and propose improvements.Conduct site inspections to determine maintenance scopes and requirementsMaintain equipment Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering master dataDevelop isolation plans and support safe work systemsMonitor planning effectiveness and drive continuous improvement initiativesCollaborate with maintenance teams to improve work execution and plant reliability
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or a relevant post-trade technical qualificationMinimum 5 years' experience within maintenance, engineering or industrial operationsExperience working in a maintenance planning role within a manufacturing, processing or industrial environmentExperience scheduling maintenance activities in a processing or manufacturing environment using modern digital planning tools (e.g., SAP).Strong knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and stakeholder management abilitiesProficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and ProjectAbility to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to changing business needs
Desirable Experience
Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food manufacturing or other highly regulated industry experienceKnowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirementsMaintenance planning qualifications or recognized maintenance management trainingExperience planning maintenance activities within process plants
