Manufacturing Supervisor

The Company

Paltech a part of Air Diffusion Australia, is a leader of innovation, manufacturing and wholesaling a wide range of heating and cooling products. We now have an opportunity for a Production Manager at our Pakenham site.

The Role

Reporting to the Branch Manager and Knoxfield Site Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the duct board and flexible duct manufacturing operation, monitoring employees and organising workflows to ensure effective production outputs. You will also be "hands-on" with manufacturing, leading by example.

 Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage production staff.  

• Coordinate manufacturing operations and ensure set production schedule is met each shift, whilst ensuring product standards and product specifications align.

• Maintain a strong culture in safety first awareness across the organisation.

• Assist branch manager to organise the hiring and training of new permanent and labour hire employees in line with production requirements.

• Maintain stock inventory and supply of materials essential for production

• Track jobs from order to invoicing to dispatch through Paltech ERP software

• Drive Forklift when required.

• Manage and inspire staff to be motivated and productive.

• Be hands on and part of the team.

• Conduct weekly Toolbox and pre-start meetings when Production Supervisor is on leave.

Skills and Experience

• Previous Team Leader/Supervisor experience

• LF Forklift license required

• Experience in Production Management Systems.

• Good communication skills

• Acute attention to detail

• Able to prioritise and organise tasks

• Enable smooth transfers between branches

• Able to use Microsoft Office at an intermediate level.

• Proven ability to manage change.

• A solid understanding of manufacturing and distribution processes including Stock control, ordering, and dispatch. 

• Great people management skills
