Project Scheduler – Mining & Mineral Processing

Mincore is an Australian engineering and project delivery company providing engineering, procurement, construction management and advisory services to the mining and mineral-processing sectors.

Due to continued growth across our project portfolio, we are seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to join our Melbourne office.

About the Role

Working closely with Project Managers, Study Managers, Engineering Leads, Procurement and Construction teams, you will develop, maintain and report on integrated project schedules across the full project lifecycle—from concept and scoping studies through PFS, DFS, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning.

This is a hands-on, office-based role requiring advanced Primavera P6 capability and the ability to manage detailed schedules across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain integrated, logic-linked project schedules using Primavera P6.

• Prepare Level 1 through Level 4 schedules for studies and project execution.

• Establish work breakdown structures, activity logic, milestones and schedule baselines.

• Develop schedules for concept studies, scoping studies, PFS, DFS and execution phases.

• Integrate engineering deliverables, procurement packages, vendor activities, construction and commissioning.

• Update schedules using actual progress and information provided by project disciplines.

• Undertake critical-path, schedule-variance and delay analysis.

• Identify schedule risks, constraints, delays and emerging impacts.

• Prepare look-ahead schedules, progress curves, dashboards and regular project reports.

• Monitor engineering deliverables, approvals, procurement packages and long-lead equipment.

• Support resource planning, forecasting and progress measurement.

• Assist project teams with schedule recovery plans and mitigation strategies.

• Participate in project meetings and clearly communicate schedule priorities and concerns.

• Maintain accurate scheduling records and support change and extension-of-time assessments.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of Mincore’s project-controls systems and reporting processes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Demonstrated experience as a Project Scheduler, Planner or Planning Engineer.

• Advanced hands-on proficiency in Primavera P6.

• Experience developing and maintaining integrated, logic-linked project schedules.

• Experience supporting project studies and execution phases.

• Previous experience in mining, mineral processing, engineering, EPCM, infrastructure or heavy industry.

• Australian mining or EPCM project experience is strongly preferred.

• A strong understanding of study, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning workflows.

• Experience with progress measurement, critical-path analysis and schedule reporting.

• Strong Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.

• Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• The ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and manage competing priorities.

• Relevant qualifications in engineering, construction management, project management or a related discipline.

• Full Australian working rights.

Experience with Microsoft Project, Power BI, earned-value reporting, and cost-loaded or resource-loaded schedules will be highly regarded.
