The Why

The Senior Manager, Risk Enablement (Business) (internally titled Partner) is a key first line risk role, partnering closely with senior business leaders to embed effective risk management across strategy, change, and day-to-day operations.

As a trusted advisor, you’ll translate risk and regulatory expectations into practical, business-aligned outcomes strengthening control environments, enabling informed decision-making, and driving uplift in risk maturity, accountability, and culture.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with senior stakeholders to identify, assess, and manage key business and operational risksProvide pragmatic first line risk, control, and compliance advice across business activities, initiatives, and transformation programsContribute to risk profiling and control effectiveness activities, including identification of material risks, key controls, and KRIsSupport the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of controls, ensuring they are embedded and fit-for-purposeMonitor compliance with policies, standards, and regulatory obligations, proactively identifying and escalating emerging risksSupport the management of incidents, issues, and remediation actions, ensuring timely and sustainable resolutionDeliver clear, concise risk reporting and insights to stakeholders and governance forumsDrive uplift in risk capability, culture, and first line ownership across the businessContribute to risk governance activities and engagement with second line and assurance teamsMaintain awareness of regulatory expectations and industry best practice, translating these into actionable outcomes

Your Experience

6+ years’ experience in non-financial risk (operational and/or data risk) within a regulated environmentStrong understanding of non-financial risk frameworks, controls, and regulatory obligationsProven experience assessing controls and partnering with stakeholders to uplift risk maturityAbility to influence senior stakeholders, balancing effective risk management with commercial outcomesFamiliarity with regulatory requirements across data, technology, and operational risk domainsStrong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to simplify complex risk conceptsA pragmatic, outcomes-focused approach with sound judgement
