The Role:To work as a Mechanical Apprentice, providing support to a variety of mechanical tasks, specifically in the assembly, fabrication, and maintenance of Minetek’s primary product range.
Responsibilities:Supporting the assembly, fabrication, and installation of mechanical components, machinery, and equipmentReading and interpreting mechanical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documentationFollowing instructions and taking direction from skilled Trades on all matters related to the Apprentice learning and development programInteracting harmoniously within the team, offering support where needed and contributing to a positive work culture and environmentSeeking opportunities for greater exposure to learn skills and develop knowledge for practical applicationMaintaining an awareness of safety requirements in accordance with company policy, whilst identifying potential hazards and working with the business to minimise risksDisplaying an ability to retain the information and skills learnt on the job, while putting your increased knowledge to the best possible useAdhering to TAFE NSW task requirements to start and complete a 4-year Apprenticeship course. This includes attending TAFE once a week at the closest campusCommunicating information to essential personnel within the business, making Supervisors and HR representatives aware of your progress through the programDeveloping a knowledge of and keeping up to date with relevant industry and Australian standardsGeneral mechanical tasks associated with assembly, fitting, machining, and testing as per business requirementsSkills & Experience:Well-rounded problem-solving skills with the ability to think and act quickly in a fast-paced environmentCan remain consistently reliable and flexible to the changing environment and priorities of the businessWill take direction, have an inherent willingness to learn, and can adapt performance accordingly when presented with constructive feedbackAlways polite, well-mannered, and respectful in accordance with our company values and behavioursCommitted to the requirements of the Apprenticeship program and regular course targets established by TAFE NSWAn ability to identify and suggest process improvements and new ideasA genuine team player who works effectively with others and is self-motivated when working autonomouslyExcellent verbal (presentation) and written communication skillCulture and Benefits Culture& BenefitsMinetek is an organisation with strong company values, a business that cares about the personal and professional development of its employees.
