About the role
This is a permanent full-time position commencing in October 2026
As part of the implementation of the Department’s new Strategic Plan, Our Plan for Public Education in Western Australia, we are expanding the remit of the former Leadership Institute to strengthen system leadership, coordination and oversight of professional learning programs. This more integrated and contemporary approach to professional learning further enables the Department's commitment to support and develop our people.
The Leadership, Learning and Development Directorate has the responsibility of ensuring the provision of high quality, system endorsed professional programs for our people for their ongoing development. The Directorate will provide strategic advice to senior leadership on high quality professional learning and coordinate and quality assure the delivery of professional learning, as part of broader system reform.
The Directorate is also responsible for overseeing the development of the Department's new home of professional learning, the Leadership, Learning and Development Institute, which will include the new Disability and Inclusion Professional Learning Hub. This significant State Government initiative will support our workforce to address the increasingly diverse needs of students and help schools to deliver high-quality teaching, learning and wellbeing support.
The Leadership, Learning and Development Directorate operates as one team across two locations. This position is based in East Perth, with occasional travel to Leederville and Padbury required for meetings and collaborative work.
The Role
The Reporting and Analysis Officer provides technical direction, advice and support to Department staff in relation to system functionality, processes and protocols, and online courses and resources. The position provides technical advice, systems support and analytical expertise to support professional learning delivery, reporting and continuous improvement. Working with professional learning platforms and associated systems, the role contributes to the effective administration, monitoring and evaluation of professional learning programs and supports the integrity and quality of organisational data.
If successful, you will investigate and analyse data to identify emerging trends, issues and opportunities, prepare reports and briefing material, and provide advice to stakeholders on system functionality, reporting processes and online learning resources. The position also contributes to the development and improvement of systems, processes and reporting practices that support professional learning and workforce capability across the Department.
We are seeking a highly organised and analytical professional with demonstrated experience providing administrative and operational support in a complex environment. You will bring experience working with technical systems, databases and reporting processes, together with well-developed research, conceptual and analytical skills. Your ability to manage complex or sensitive information, identify trends and issues through data analysis, and develop practical recommendations will support evidence‑informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
