About the role
You will be responsible for all aspects of HR across a workforce that has grown in both size and complexity. Our 110 employees at production facilities in Dalby and Ipswich include experienced tradespeople and operators, apprentices, and PALM scheme workers.
We have mature HSEQ protocols and are looking for a safe pair of hands to coordinate our ongoing compliance activities.
To thrive, you will need to work autonomously and balance operational demands, worker welfare, and compliance obligations – often in the same conversation.
Key details
Reports to the Head of Operations and Finance
Based onsite at our Ipswich facility
Occasional travel required to other sites
Work hours aligned with our production schedule - 38 hrs/week, 6:54am to 3:00pm
What you'll be doing
HR:
Employee relations and day-to-day people matters
Performance, probation and absenteeism processes
Recruitment, contracts, onboarding and offboarding
Coordinating with agency for international recruitment
Apprenticeship programme, training and development
WorkCover claims and return to work plans
Managing licences, tickets and employee competencies
HSEQ:
Maintaining WHS and training records
Incident, hazard and safety investigations and compliance
Plan and track corrective actions
Environmental Authority compliance
Maintain registers and coordinate regular testing
Maintain ISO 9001 certification
Support our Lean Manufacturing Program
What we're looking for
This varied role may suit a HR Advisor or HSEQ Advisor looking to broaden their portfolio, or an experienced Coordinator or Administrator looking to take on more responsibility.
You do not need to have formal HR, safety, or risk management qualifications - we want to hear from you if you are:
Methodical, practical, and proactive
Confident dealing with employees and managers
Familiar with the demands of a manufacturing or operational environment
Attentive to details
Ready to take ownership of our HR and HSEQ functions
The following are highly regarded but not essential:
Hands-on HR or HSEQ experience
Exposure to Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme
Familiar with industrial relations, WHS, and environmental legislative requirements
Familiar with requirements to maintain ISO 9001 certification
Exposure to the Lean Management System
