Casual Wharf Attendant – Geelong

AmSpec Australia is a market leader in providing Terminal and Jetty Manning Services to the Oil & Gas industry

Position available:

We are seeking Casual Wharf Attendants to strengthen our existing work team in Geelong. 

Casual shift positions will include various day, night, weekend shifts and occasional public holidays based on shipping movements and requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

Wharf Attendants are responsible for safe monitoring of ship loading and discharging of petroleum and chemical products. Other responsibilities include:

• Execute ship loading/discharge plans (under supervision)

• Communicate with the vessels and terminal via radio

• Wharf line walks and safety checks

• Connect/disconnect loading arm and transfer hoses

• Complete product sampling and basic product testing

Essential Requirements:

• Must have a positive attitude 

• Reliable, punctual and able to work with minimal supervision

• Must be flexible to work across day shifts, night shifts, weekend shifts and occasional public holiday shifts

• Valid Australian Driver’s License 

• MSIC card (or willingness to obtain)

• Must have the right to live and work in Australia

• Be able and willing to work outdoors during adverse weather conditions 

• Fit and able to climb vessel gangways, stairs, ladders, etc.

• High Risk License such as Forklift or Dogman/Rigger would be an advantage
