Civil Construction Drainer & Machine Operator

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Civil Construction Drainer & Machine Operator to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role working on a variety of civil construction projects, including Subdivisions, stormwater, sewer, water, and drainage infrastructure.

The successful applicant will be confident operating machinery, installing drainage systems, and working safely as part of a productive crew.

Key Responsibilities

• Install stormwater, sewer, and drainage infrastructure.

• Operate excavators and other civil construction machinery.

• Read and interpret construction plans and set out works.

• Conduct daily pre-start checks and basic machine maintenance.

• Maintain a safe and compliant worksite.

• Work effectively within a team to deliver projects on time and to a high standard.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in civil construction and drainage.

• Competent excavator operator.

• Knowledge of underground service systems

• Current Construction White Card.

• Current driver's licence (HR licence advantageous).

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.

• Strong understanding of safe work practices.

• Reliable, motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Desirable

• Confined Space and Working at Heights tickets.

• Excavator, skid steer, roller, or loader competencies.

• First Aid certificate.

• Experience with GPS machine guidance systems.
