About the role
Lean Mining is a Queensland-based maintenance, trades and field services business providing fixed plant maintenance support across the Mackay & Coalfields and wider Queensland region. You will cover fixed plant maintenance, shutdowns and breakdown response across multiple sites, working on coal wash plant / CHPP and associated fixed plant, crushers, sizers and feeders, conveyor systems, screens, chutes and transfer points, pumps, hydraulics and rotating equipment. You will perform fault-finding, troubleshooting and mechanical repair across multiple sites.
Key responsibilities
Fixed plant maintenance, shutdowns and breakdown response for coal wash plant / CHPP and associated fixed plant
Maintenance of crushers, sizers and feeders
Maintenance of conveyor systems — pulleys, bearings, drive trains, gearboxes, idlers
Maintenance of screens, chutes and transfer points
Maintenance of pumps, hydraulics and rotating equipment
Fault-finding, troubleshooting and mechanical repair across multiple sites
Work to JSEAs, SWMS and site safety systems
About you
Trade Certificate (Cert III) – Engineering Mechanical (Fitter)
Proven coal wash plant / CHPP experience
Coal wash plant experiance
Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills on large, fixed plant
Currently based in Mackay or within a commutable distance — local candidates only
Australian working rights (citizen, PR or unrestricted work visa)
A genuine team-player attitude
Strong safety mindset
Queensland Coal Board Medical (current)
Standard 11 Generic Coal Induction (current)
Working at Heights, Confined Space Entry, Gas Test Atmospheres, Rigging (Basic/Intermediate) and Dogging, EWP / Scissor Lift, Forklift (LF), First Aid / LVR / CPR
