Financial Accountant (Chinese Speaking) - 12 Months Fixed Term

We are an established & rapidly growing FMCG Company specializing in the importing and distribution of Asian food products to all major retailers in the Australian & NZ markets. An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced, proactive, and self-motivated Financial Accountant (12 Months Fixed Term) to join this leading company in Asian food products, located in Sydney West. 

This role will be reporting to the Finance Manager. You will also help be part of the team's efforts to drive change, improve processes, and increase efficiency. 

Knowledge of Dynamics 365 will be much preferred.

This position will be a 12 months contracted role, with possibility to extend or convert to permanent position.

Position Profile

Oversee and manage all facets of the company’s accounting activities, month-end and year-end financial reporting, budget and forecasting, statutory compliance, management of the accounting system. May be required to manage finance/ accounting staff.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

• Preparation of periodic, half-year and year end reports including variance analysis

• End of month group reporting and reconciliations

• Monitor the group’s transactions

• Preparation of FBT, GST/ BAS

• Organise month end accrual process

• Manage payroll, payroll tax, PAYG

• Meet internal/external audit requirements

• Develop department policies & procedure

• Cash-flow reporting and forecasting

• General insurance, workers compensation & leasing

• Visit the subsidiaries’ sites or travel overseas, as per required, to inspect or investigate any accounting relevant matters.

• Other ad-hoc projects as required
  

Skills Required

• 3-5 years' experience in a similar role

• Qualified Accountant and tertiary qualification

• Strong working knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards

• Advanced computer (experience with ACCPAC an advantage)

• Strong communication verbal & written skills

• Team player and able to work under pressure

• Strategic thinker and must have analytical awareness

• Knowledge of payroll, payroll tax, PAYG
