We’re looking for a Workshop Technician to join our friendly team at Queensland Orthotic Lab.
About the roleThis is a full-time, hands-on workshop role where you’ll be trained to manufacture custom-made orthotics and ankle braces that help people move and live better.
No experience is required - we provide full on-the-job training.
What you’ll be doingPouring plaster casts
Freehand shaping and finishing
Gluing and vacuum moulding
Shaping materials using workshop machinery
Preparing materials and keeping the workspace organised
We’re focused on attitude, not experience.
You’ll suit this role if you:
Have good attention to detail and steady hands
Take pride in doing neat, accurate work
Are reliable and self‑motivated
Enjoy practical, hands‑on tasks
Are willing to learn and try new things
Helpful (but not essential):
Interest or experience in manual or visual arts
Hobbies like woodworking, sculpture, pottery, or model‑making
Experience using basic workshop tools
Physical requirements:
Able to stand for periods of time
Comfortable lifting items up to 10kg
Full-time hours, Monday to Friday
No weekend work
