Lawyer - Capital Markets

About the role

This vacancy sits within our corporate practice working primarily with well-regarded partner, Russell Lyons, head of the Sydney Capital Markets Practice.  The team is involved in IPO's, secondary raisings and takeovers including significant domestic & cross-border mergers and acquisitions for both private and public companies as well as their financial regulation, governance and risk management.

We act for listed and large private clients in a range of different industries including financial services, technology, education, manufacturing, distribution and retail, health and resources.

The role

We can offer you the opportunity to join a high performing team and work autonomously with support and supervision from our great partners.  On a day-to-day basis you will have the chance to

• Draft complex documents which require meticulous attention to detail
• Advise and act for local and multinational organisations
• Project manage client matters
• Participate in business development and client relationship activities
• Contribute to the firm's learning and development program in area of specialty

About you

We are seeking an experienced mid-level lawyer (2-3 years PQE) who has capital markets and M&A experience working on sophisticated and complex transactions. You should be practical and proactive in your approach in addition to demonstrating strong problem-solving skills. A high level of client service is expected as are excellent organisation, written and oral communication skills.

The successful applicant will have exceptional technical abilities, be commercially minded, with previous experience or desire to supervise and mentor junior team members.
