Are you a confident and adaptable professional who thrives in a fast-paced regulatory environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service?
As a Ranger, you will play an important role in helping keep the City safe, welcoming and well managed. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will contribute to a diverse range of local law and compliance services, including animal management and investigations, parking enforcement, litter and verge control, bushfire inspections, beach closures, and other community safety initiatives.
No two days are the same in this varied and rewarding role. You will provide a visible presence in the community, respond to a range of compliance matters, and help deliver fair, responsive and customer-focused outcomes for residents and visitors.
Reporting to the Lead Ranger and working under the guidance of the Senior Ranger, you will work a rotating roster to support community safety across the City.
This position operates on a roster between 7.00am and 8.30pm, seven days per week.
Your covering letter will need to address the following key criteria:Demonstrated conflict resolution and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage challenging situations, promote compliance and resolve issues positively through effective communication and negotiation.Sound knowledge of and an ability to apply acts, regulations, local laws, policies and protocols.Demonstrated experience in a responsive and regulatory customer service environment.Demonstrated experience and knowledge of handling domestic animals.Sound knowledge of work health and safety principles and practices relevant to the role.
Possession of the following is required:Current WA C Class Driver's Licence.Current Provide First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011).Current Regulatory Officer Compliance Skills (ROCS 1 and 2).Traffic Management (or obtained within the first 3 months of appointment to position).Current animal handling training.Current National Police Clearance (no older than 3 months).
