Lead Data Engineer (Informatica)

Location: Sydney CBD (Hybrid - 3 days in office)

Role Type: Full-Time

Remuneration: Excellent Annual Package

We are hiring a Lead Data Engineer to manage a team of 7 developers while driving data pipeline automation and cloud modernization for a major banking client using an AI-first engineering approach.

• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and guide a team of 7 data developers in executing pipeline deliverables.

• IDMC Development: Design and build high-volume ETL/ELT pipelines using Informatica IDMC (CDI, CAI, DQ) and Python across enterprise cloud platforms.

• AI & Automation: Apply AI agents to automate coding, data mapping, testing, orchestration, and documentation.

• Technical Leadership: Serve as SME for Informatica IDMC—setting design patterns, standards, and best practices.

• Modernization: Partner with architects to drive cloud migrations and system simplification while maintaining strict banking compliance.

• Informatica Expertise: Expert-level experience with Informatica IDMC and PowerCenter.

• Leadership Experience: Proven track record leading small engineering teams (5+ developers).

• Data Engineering: Strong background building high-volume, time-critical pipelines with advanced SQL skills.

• Tooling: Proficiency with Python and modern CI/CD tooling (Git, Bitbucket, DevSecOps).

• Education: Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
