About the role
Park Street Bistro is seeking experienced Senior Waiter to lead sections, elevate the guest experience and take ownership of wine service. Park Street Bistro is a new European bistro opening within The Kurrajong Hotel in Erskineville.
Our service will be warm, polished and knowledgeable, combining the professionalism of restaurant service with the relaxed character of a bistro. This is a sales-driven, guest-focused position where your confidence, product knowledge and presence are used to guide guests through the menu, recommend wine and create a memorable dining experience.
You will be part of our Opening Team, starting August 31st, as a senior presence on the floor and will help establish the service standards, culture and expectations of the venue from the start.
Key responsibilities
Take full ownership of a section from greeting through to payment.
Deliver polished, precise and well-timed table service.
Confidently discuss the wine list and make considered recommendations.
Use strong product knowledge to guide choices and drive sales.
Understand dietary requirements and communicate them accurately.
Anticipate guest needs and maintain control of the guest journey.
Work closely with the kitchen, bar and management team.
Assist with wine service standards, staff training and product knowledge.
Maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness and organisation.
Support supervisors and management in maintaining service standards.
About you
A minimum of three years' experience as a Senior or Section Waiter in a quality-driven bistro or restaurant is essential.
Strong food and beverage knowledge, with particular confidence in wine.
Ability to discuss different wine styles, regions and pairings naturally and accurately.
Sommelier or WSET training is highly regarded but not essential.
Strong understanding of table service, sequencing and service timing.
Confident in sales, recommendations and influencing the guest experience.
Professional, polished and calm in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Current NSW RSA and Food Handler Certificate are required.
