About the role
Austek Pty Ltd is an entirely locally owned and operated company, originally established in 1988. Since then, we've specialised in delivering industrial electrical, automation, telemetry, and communications systems across North Queensland, including Cape York and the Torres Strait. Our expertise spans SCADA systems, PLC controls, chemical dosing systems, switchboard manufacturing, and motor control centres for critical water and wastewater infrastructure. We operate under certified management systems aligned with ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management), and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management).
About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Electrical Key Account Manager to build and manage relationships with our major clients across the water, wastewater, and industrial sectors. This role is ideal for someone with a technical electrical background who enjoys client-facing work, driving business growth, and being the trusted point of contact for key accounts across North Queensland.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and grow relationships with Austek's key clients, acting as the primary point of contact.
Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and develop strategies to grow revenue.
Prepare and present quotations, proposals, and tender submissions.
Manage and Support Minor and Service work.
Liaise closely with project managers, engineers, and estimators to ensure client expectations are met.
Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth.
Resolve client concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Maintain accurate records of client interactions, opportunities, and account performance.
About You:
Trade-qualified electrician or relevant technical background, with industrial experience (water, sewer, or similar preferred).
Proven experience in account management, technical sales, or a client-facing role within the electrical or industrial sector.
Experience Manging Jobs and Service Work.
Confident, personable communicator with strong relationship-building skills.
Commercially minded, with the ability to identify and pursue growth opportunities.
Well organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple accounts at once.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM or quoting software highly regarded.
Current Manual Driver's Licence and a clear criminal history check.

Competitive salary: $110,000 – $140,000 + superannuation, based on experience.
