About the role:
Coal Services seeking an experienced Head of Risk Management to establish, embed and oversee a strong organisational Enterprise Risk Management Policy and Framework in this newly created Head of function, impactful role. This is a unique, newly created opportunity to bring your Risk Management expertise and regulated environment experience to this function where you will support informed decision-making, strengthen governance, and safeguard the organisation’s reputation, sustainability, and performance.Working closely with the Executive Leadership team, Board of Directors and Finance, Legal and Audit functions, you will oversee and operationalise the governance and compliance, critical control management, Incident management, crisis management, along with other Risk management requirements that support strategic, operational and financial risks.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Develop, implement, and continuously improve the organisation’s enterprise risk management policy and frameworkAlign risk management practices with strategic objectives and regulatory requirementsOversee organisation wide risk identification, assessment, and prioritisation processes.Establish and maintain risk reporting frameworks and dashboards for executives and the BoardMonitor compliance with risk appetite and escalate breaches appropriatelyEnsure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.Liaise with regulators and external auditors as requiredOversee incident management frameworks, including risk events and near misses.Work closely with senior leaders to embed risk management into business operations.Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, auditors, and Business Units.Provide strategic advice on risk implications of major initiatives, investments, and transformations.
About you:
Your education, experience and skills will include:Bachelor’s degree in risk management, Business, Commerce, Finance, Law or Health & SafetyProfessional Certification in Risk Management or GovernanceCertified Risk Manager ISO31000Strategic thinker with ability to link risk management to business strategyLeadership experience and capability to build high performing teams that can influence at executive levels. Excellent stakeholder management both internally and externally Integrity and ethics that promote a strong ethical compliance culture.
