Guest Services Agent Reception

About the role

We are seeking a Guest Services Agent Reception to join the Adelaide Inn team on a casual basis. This is a key front-of-house position based in North Adelaide, SA 5006, where you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their stay. This role is essential to delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth operations at our reception desk. You will be responsible for welcoming guests, managing check-ins and check-outs, handling enquiries, and providing support to create memorable experiences for all visitors to Adelaide Inn. There is an opportunity for this role to grow to permanent part time for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

• Greeting and welcoming guests upon arrival with a professional and friendly demeanour

• Processing guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently and accurately

• Managing room bookings, reservations, and amendments using our booking system

• Responding to guest enquiries regarding room facilities, local attractions, dining options, and other services

• Handling guest complaints or concerns professionally and escalating issues appropriately

• Managing the reception desk during assigned shifts, including answering phones and responding to emails

• Processing payments and maintaining accurate financial records

• Maintaining a clean, organised and welcoming reception area

• Coordinating with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to support guest needs

• Providing recommendations on local experiences and attractions to enhance guest satisfaction

What we're looking for

• Previous experience in a guest-facing or customer service role, preferably within hospitality

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and staff

• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment

• Proficiency with computer systems and booking software (training provided if necessary)

• A friendly, welcoming demeanour and genuine passion for delivering exceptional service

• Flexibility to work on a casual basis, including weekends and public holidays as required

• Basic numeracy skills for handling payments and reconciliation

• Attention to detail and accuracy when processing bookings and guest information

• Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to guest requests
