About the role
The Centre Cook is responsible for planning and preparing healthy, balanced meals and snacks that meet the nutritional needs of children. You will maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen, manage food ordering and stock control, and work collaboratively with educators to support children's health, wellbeing, and learning experiences through food.
Key responsibilities
Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children
Cater for dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural preferences
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness
Manage food ordering, stock rotation, and kitchen supplies
Ensure compliance with food handling regulations and centre policies
Work collaboratively with educators and families to promote healthy eating habits
Maintain kitchen records and documentation as required
About you
Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Food handling certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
Strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment
Warm, friendly, and team-oriented approach
Experience in food preparation, catering, or a commercial kitchen
Knowledge of nutrition requirements for young children
Munch and move training
Monday to Friday availability
