About the role

Do you have a love for service?We are seeking an experienced Venue 2IC to join Seven Seeds in Carlton VIC 3053. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role within our hospitality operation. As Venue 2IC, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our venue, supporting the Venue Manager and leading our service team to deliver exceptional experiences for our guests. Your strategic importance lies in maintaining operational excellence, upholding our service standards, and fostering a positive, collaborative team environment that reflects our commitment to hospitality excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Supporting the Venue Manager in overseeing all aspects of daily venue operations

• Leading and supervising waiting staff and service team members during shifts

• Ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality service in line with Seven Seeds standards

• Managing guest interactions, addressing concerns and ensuring customer satisfaction

• Training and mentoring service staff on menu knowledge, service techniques and hospitality standards

• Monitoring stock levels and placing orders for beverages, food supplies and service materials

• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of service areas, dining spaces and back-of-house facilities

• Assisting with scheduling, roster management and staff coordination

• Handling cash and payment processing accurately and securely

• Responding to operational issues promptly and implementing solutions

• Maintaining compliance with health, safety and licensing requirements

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Venue 2IC, Assistant Manager or similar experience/ supervisory role in a hospitality or restaurant environment

• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff

• Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and grace

• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to manage busy service periods

• Excellent communication skills

• Flexibility to work some weekends and public holidays as required

• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and presentation

• Previous experience in a specialty coffee or hospitality venue environment is a bonus
