About Us

Winsonton Bakeshop and Resto is a busy bakery-restaurant based in Logan Central, QLD, serving a loyal local customer base with a menu of freshly baked goods and hearty, quality meals. We are looking for an experienced and passionate Chef to join our kitchen team.

The Role

We are seeking a skilled, hands-on Chef to oversee food preparation, menu execution, and kitchen operations at our Logan Central premises. This is a full-time position offering long-term career opportunity with a growing local business.

Key Duties:

• Planning, preparing, and cooking food items in accordance with recipes, portion, and quality control standards
• Overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation schedules and stock control
• Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards
• Supervising and coordinating the work of kitchen staff, including apprentices and kitchen hands
• Monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and liaising with suppliers
• Developing and costing menu items, including seasonal and special menus
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment
• Managing kitchen budgets and minimising food wastage

Skills and Experience Required:

• Trade qualification in commercial cookery (Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery) or equivalent relevant experience
• Minimum 1-2 years relevant experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen
• Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices (Food Safety Supervisor certification highly regarded)
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Strong leadership and communication skills to supervise kitchen staff
• Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays as required

A salary of $79,000 - $85,000 per annum (plus superannuation), commensurate to experience, will be offered to the successful applicant.
