About the role

At Entire, we've been delivering exceptional building services solutions for over 40 years. With continued growth across our Fire Protection division, we're looking for an experienced Defects Estimator to join our Service & Maintenance team based in South Melbourne.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys problem solving, working with clients and technicians, and delivering accurate, commercially sound solutions in a fast-paced environment.
About the Role
Reporting to the Fire Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for assessing fire protection defects, preparing accurate quotations, and ensuring rectification works are scoped correctly from the outset.
Working closely with Service Coordinators, Technicians and clients, you'll play a key role in delivering outstanding customer service while maintaining quality, profitability and compliance.
Your Responsibilities
Inspect and assess fire protection defects requiring rectification
Prepare accurate quotations and cost estimates
Review scopes of work and identify labour, material and subcontractor requirements
Liaise with technicians, suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing
Provide clear communication to clients regarding quotations, exclusions and timeframes
Monitor outstanding quotations and proactively follow up opportunities
Support smooth handover of successful quotations to the operations team
Ensure all work complies with relevant Australian Standards and company procedures
Maintain accurate documentation and job records
About You
You'll be someone who enjoys balancing technical knowledge with customer service and commercial awareness.
Ideally you'll have:
Previous estimating experience within fire protection, building services or a related industry
Strong understanding of defect rectification works
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong computer skills and confidence using estimating or job management systems
A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving ability
