The Opportunity:

Are you a skilled Bench Hand with a passion for the Mining Industry? Thiess is now accepting applications from experienced and motivated Bench Hands to join our high-performing team at Lake Vermont.

As a key member of the Lake Vermont drill and blast team, you'll be responsible for operating a wide variety of duties in the preparation of various blast patterns for mining production and reporting into the senior shot-firer.  

Roster: 7/7| Location: Lake Vermont, QLD | Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time

As a Bench Hand, you will be:

• Dipping holes
• Baiting holes
• Bobbing holes
• Reporting findings and completing paperwork as required
• Monitoring and addressing safety throughout the entire drilling and blasting process
• Following all site policies and procedures

About You:

To be successful in this role you are required to have:

• HR Drivers licence (advantageous, but not a prerequisite)
• Coal Mining Experience
• Queensland Explosives Security Clearance
• Standard 11
• Coal Board Medical
• Effective time management skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to complete intensive manual labour outside
• Effective communication skills
