Position: Medical Receptionist (Part-Time)
 

Position Overview:
The Medical Receptionist is a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the practice. You will be responsible for managing patient appointments, providing exceptional customer service, handling administrative duties and supporting the healthcare team. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and check-in patients in a friendly and professional manner

• Schedule, reschedule and cancel appointments using Genie software 

• Answer phone calls, respond to enquiries and provide relevant information to patients

• Perform administrative tasks such as filing, managing patient records and preparing documents

• Manage patient data in accordance with confidentiality and privacy regulations

• Handle billing and insurance queries

• Support the healthcare team as required and ensuring smooth clinic operations

• Provide exceptional customer service to patients, ensuring a positive experience from arrival to departure

• Multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks as necessary

• Work independently, while being an active and collaborative member of the team

• Follow directions and complete tasks as requested

Essential Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a reception or similar customer-facing role

• Proficient computer skills, including literacy in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Can work independently and as part of a multi-faceted team

• Quick learner, able to adapt to new software and procedures

• Problem-solving ability and proactive approach to challenges

• Flexible availability for varying shifts and hours

• Friendly, professional demeanour with a patient-centric attitude

• Ability to follow directions and take initiative when needed

Desirable but Not Essential:

• Previous experience using Genie software (on the job training will be provided for the right candidate)

Other Information:

• This role is offered on a part-time basis with a 3-month probationary period.

• There is potential for the role to transition to a permanent part-time position, subject to performance during the probation period.
