NRG Industrial is seeking experienced, reliable and safety-focused electricians to support our mining division across Central Queensland.

This casual position is suited to electricians looking for a variety of mining work, including shutdowns, planned maintenance, down days, shift relief, backfill and project work.

About the Role

Depending on the assignment and site requirements, work may include:

• CHPP and fixed-plant maintenance

• Dragline, shovel and heavy mining equipment maintenance

• Shutdowns and scheduled down days

• Shift relief and maintenance backfill

• Breakdown and ad hoc maintenance

• Electrical installations, upgrades and project work

• Work on conveyors, stackers, reclaimers and train load-out systems

• Maintenance of switchboards, MCCs, motors and associated electrical infrastructure

Work is available across Blackwater and the broader Bowen Basin region.

Accommodation and meals are supplied while working away.
Paid travel from Yeppoon or Rockhampton applies to eligible ad hoc assignments.
Travel arrangements for shift relief, backfill and ongoing placements may vary and will be confirmed before each assignment.

Applications are also welcome from Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast; however, applicants will be responsible for making their own way to the nominated departure point where paid travel applies.

About NRG Industrial

NRG Industrial is a privately owned electrical contracting business based in Yeppoon. We support mining operations across Central Queensland with electrical labour, shutdown support, maintenance and project services.

Our team works across both fixed plant and heavy mining equipment, providing exposure to a broad range of sites and electrical work.

What We’re Looking For

To be considered, you will need:

• Current Queensland Electrical Work Licence

• Strong commitment to safety

• Reliable and professional work ethic

• Ability to work effectively within a site team

• Flexibility to work across different sites and assignments

• Ability to complete site onboarding and mobilisation requirements

The following qualifications are highly desirable:

• Current Coal Board Medical

• Standard 11 Statement of Attainment

• Working at Heights

• Confined Space Entry

• Gas Test Atmospheres

• Current CPR/LVR

• High Risk Work Licence, including EWP
