Carer Compliance Officer Maitland - Permanent Full Time 76 Hours per fortnight

About the Role:

We are seeking a Carer Compliance Officer to join our Foster Care team, supporting the compliance, authorisation and review of foster carers. Working closely with carers, children and young people and key stakeholders, you will help ensure requirements are met, risks are identified and placements are appropriately assessed and supported.

Duties:

• Manage foster carer recruitment, compliance and authorisation processes.
• Complete suitability, home and placement matching assessments.
• Coordinate and facilitate Shared Lives training and carer panels.
• Conduct carer and end-of-placement reviews within required timeframes.
• Maintain accurate carer records, registers, databases and client management systems.
• Monitor Working with Children Checks, Police Checks and other suitability requirements.
• Respond to placement referrals and support the intake and matching process.
• Prepare high-quality assessment reports and maintain accurate documentation.
• Work collaboratively with carers, Case Workers and key stakeholders.

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

• Relevant experience and knowledge working within the OOHC sector.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a range of stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare comprehensive assessment reports with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines and maintain quality.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Experience using client management systems and databases.
• Current Australian driver's licence.
• Current or willingness to obtain required screening checks.

 Desirable:

• Experience using the ACWA Step by Step tool or other assessment tools.
• Experience facilitating Shared Lives or other group-based training.
• Experience using the Carers Register.
• Diploma or degree in Community Services or a related field.
