Boilermaker

Allship Engineering is seeking a trade qualified Boilermaker for work within the marine sector of Defence industry. The primary work location is Potts Point in Sydney, NSW, and occasional work at our workshop in Banksmeadow.

Police check no older than 30 days must be provided.

Baseline security clearance is required for this position.

Candidates may obtain baseline security clearance after hiring if not already held.

Allship Engineering conduct a 4-day work routine, 0630-1630 Mon-Thu.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conduct fabrication tasks that must be inspected against industry codes and quality standards, requiring meticulous attention to detail and compliance with regulations.

• Conduct fabrication tasks relevant to your qualifications and experience including welding.

• Work in confined and constricted spaces.

• Contribute to Identifying mandatory task requirements through critical review of Work Instructions, Repair Specifications and Repair Plans.

• Actively engage in the mentoring and training of apprentices and Trade Assistant's.

Education & Qualification Requirements:

• Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or equivalent (essential)

• Construction White Card (essential)

• C Class Driver's Licence (essential)

• RIIWHS204E - Work Safely at Heights (WAH) – (desirable)

• RIIWHS202E - Enter and Work in Confined Spaces (CS) – (desirable)

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Proficient in GMAW, MMAW, and GTAW.

• Experience as a Pipe Fitter highly desired.

• Physical ability to climb ladders and stairwells on ships.

• Minimum 1-2 years of boiler making experience desired
