About the role
WANTED: 🌾Hay & Straw Crop Inspector 🌾
Location: Southern New South Wales / Northern Victoria (where the grass is greener... until it's baled)
Are you the kind of person who can spot a hay shed from a kilometre away?
Do you secretly judge paddocks while driving past? Have you ever thought, "That windrow could've been straighter"?
If so, we have the job for you!
Your Duties:
Give hay and straw your professional nod of approval (or your legendary disappointed head shake).
Ensure quality standards are met before the bales head off to conquer the world.
Measure moisture like your reputation depends on it.
Politely explain that "close enough" is not an official grading standard.
Walk through enough paddocks to make your step counter question reality.
Resist the urge to tell every farmer how you would've done it.
Essential Skills:
Ability to tell hay from straw before your first coffee
Strong appreciation for perfectly stacked bales.
Comfortable working outdoors in temperatures ranging from "pleasant" to "why is the sun so angry?"
Willingness to travel extensively throughout Victoria/South Australia and New South Wales during the peak harvest period. If your suitcase is permanently half-packed and you think road trips through the countryside are a bonus, you'll fit right in.
Benefits:
Unlimited fresh country air.
Daily exercise without paying for a gym membership.
You'll finally have a legitimate reason to sniff hay.
Warning:
Side effects may include developing strong opinions about twine quality, instinctively checking moisture levels after every rain shower, and pointing out "premium hay" to confused passengers on family road trips.
Apply today! IF you’re the person who says, "Now that's a quality bale."
