The roleThe Ahrens Refurbishment and Fitout team is recruiting an experienced Estimator to join the New Sales Wales team.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, we're looking for an experienced Fitout Estimator to join our team in Caringbah, NSW. In this role, you'll lead the estimating and tendering of retail, commercial and industrial fit-out and refurbishment projects valued up to $10 million, playing a key role in securing and delivering quality projects.
What you'll doReview project scope, specifications, drawings and tender documentation to prepare accurate estimates.Prepare Bills of Quantities, cost plans and tender submissions for retail, commercial and industrial fit-out projects.Measure drawings, prepare trade packages and issue scopes of work to subcontractors and suppliers.Liaise with clients, subcontractors and suppliers to clarify requirements and obtain competitive pricing.Evaluate and analyse subcontractor quotations to ensure accurate and competitive tenders.Provide buildability, value engineering and cost-effective construction solutions during the design and tender phases.Maintain supplier and subcontractor pricing databases to support estimating activities.Work collaboratively with the management team to develop competitive and commercially sound tender submissions.
What you'll bringMinimum 3 years' estimating experience within the building construction or engineering industry.Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Clearance.Proven success preparing and winning tenders for projects up to $5 million.Strong understanding of construction drawings, tendering processes, scope of works and estimating principles.Proficiency in estimating software, including CostX, Cubit and Microsoft Excel.Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.High attention to detail with the ability to prepare accurate, on-time tenders.Sound knowledge of local subcontractors, suppliers and management systems.Ability to identify value-engineering opportunities and support business growth in the NSW fit-out and refurbishment market.
